Being of Armenian descent, born in Beirut, living since 1990 in Belgium, different collective memories cohabitate in me. The interaction of these engender incoherent, absurd or surreal arrangements of an everyday realistic human relationship situations. I am interested in the point of encounter of different cultures and the similitude of human behaviour codes.

My observation is based on ephemeral and fragile details. The sum of perceptions and image fragments make an individual life, the sum of which gives a living environment which creates moving collective memory through space and time. Which is reintegrated in the individual memory itself.

My work is thus a compilation of so-called "snapshots" which were meant to fade away. By the photography, the drawing, the painting and the words, I draw a line that grows odd to me after a while. Fiction appears and deconstructs my certitudes. I create a diptych between a world that disaggregates and my will to seize its remains.
